Learning to drive can be nerve-wracking, especially if your instructor isn’t someone you get along with particularly well.

It often takes a bit of trial and error to find the right driving instructor to help you get that all-important pass.

You hear horror stories of instructors grabbing the steering wheel and even yelling at their students for very simple mistakes – and let’s be honest, who really wants that?

So we decided to put together a list of some of the best driving instructors at Burton to help you find the right instructor.

All of the following ratings are accurate as of March 21, 2019.

1. ProTeach Driving School – 5*

This driving school, based on Foston Avenue, has the highest possible rating with a whopping 136 reviews on Google.

The school has several instructors, many of whom have been praised for their kind demeanor and calm instructions.

One reviewer said: “Amazing, great prices, passed first time with 0 faults. Couldn’t have gone with anyone better.”

Finding the right instructor for you could mean the difference between succeeding the first time and failing again and again.

2. OMG! I drive – 5*

OMG! I’m Driving offers another outstanding service according to 32 reviews on Google.

This company is based just off the A38 and offers driving lessons in the Burton on Trent, Swadlincote and Ashby De La Zouch areas.

They offer one hour lessons from just £26 or you can book 10 hours for £250.

One reviewer said: “Honestly the best decision I could have made was to choose OMG! I’m a driving school to take my lessons with. I passed the first time with only 1 minor.”

3. LDC Driving School – Naveed Aziz – 5*

Naveed Aziz is a fully government licensed driving instructor offering services in the Burton, Winshill, Branston and Stapenhill areas.

One of his 17 reviewers said: “Passed the first time. Extremely good instructor, very calm, patient and very professional.

“Teaches you at a pace you’re comfortable with and in a caring way that’s also easy to understand.”

4. Mark Jordan behind the wheel – 5*

Mark Jordan Driving is another local Burton driving school that reviewers have highly recommended.

One reviewer wrote, “I can’t recommend Mark highly enough.

“I was incredibly nervous before I started, but I got a letter outlining exactly what would happen during the first lesson, which I found very helpful, and upon meeting Mark, he put me straight away. comfortable.”

5. A&A Driving School

Based in Stanton Road, the A&A driving school boasts a superb five out of five stars.

One reviewer said, “A&A Driving School managed to fit me in even with Christmas just around the corner. Thanks to Zeeshan (a great guy and experienced instructor), I managed to pass easily.”

Another said: “I’m very happy to write a review on the A&A driving school and pass my exam at my first chance.

“Thanks to Ash for giving the perfect instructions at the right time.”

6. LDC Driving School – Khuram Shahzad -5*

Khuram Shahzad is another LDC driving school driving instructor with a superb 5* rating.

It offers intensive and semi-intensive driving lessons for those who want to pass their exam.

“Khuram is very patient and calm and very experienced. He has very good teaching methods. I would recommend him to all my family and friends,” one reviewer said.

7. ALIVE! driving – 5*

Another big name for a driving school and yet another that has top ratings from critics.

They offer driving lessons to those in Burton on Trent and South Derbyshire and are led by Grade A (the highest grade) instructor, Chris Macaré.

Prices for an hour are set at £30 and they claim to boast a first time pass rate of over 85%.

One of the reviewers praised their friendly teaching style, they said: “Brilliant driving instructor. Very friendly and makes you feel like a friend rather than a client.

“I highly recommend.”

8. Driving school in Ireland – *5

Ireland Driving School was established in 2009 and is run by Leigh Ireland – a driving instructor who has over nine years’ experience.

On the school’s website, Leigh wrote: ‘I am a strong believer in ‘student-centred learning’.

“My driving lessons are carefully planned around each student’s individual needs, comfort and pace.”

9. Burton iPass Driving School – 4.8*

iPass falls just short of the highly sought-after five out of five stars, but still holds an impressive 4.8 score.

They offer a range of packages and you can take a two hour lesson for just £40 or even five hours for £99.

One review said: “Very professional and heartwarming service provided! I passed the first time with only 1 minor after an intensive 15 hour driving course.

“The instructor immediately corrects errors and gives advice so that they do not happen again.

“Lively, punctual and relaxed, I made sure that my lessons were as stress-free as possible.

“I will also book my pass plus with iPass!!”

10. Elaine’s driving school – 4.3*

Lowest on our list but still highly recommendable and recognized for its user-friendliness and reliability.

One reviewer said: “Elaine is a brilliant instructor, she made me feel comfortable driving, she made me feel very comfortable.

“Elaine has helped me gain confidence while driving, I highly recommend using Elaine’s services.

“I passed my driving license for the first time!”
