NH man charged with impaired driving after driving smoldering vehicle into back of school bus – Boston 25 News

STODDARD, NH – A New Hampshire man is under arrest after driving his smoking vehicle, which was missing a tire, into the back of a school bus while allegedly intoxicated on the Route 123 in Stoddard Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m., New Hampshire State Police responded to a report of a dangerous driver swerving into the road on Route 9 in Roxbury. It has been reported that the vehicle in question, a 2018 Cadillac XTS, may have been involved in an accident on Sullivan Road in Keene.

The caller then informed state police that the vehicle was smoking and appeared to be running on three tires. Soldiers immediately responded to the area to investigate. A few minutes later, police received a call that the smoking vehicle had hit a school bus on Route 123 near the Stoddard Fire Department.

Steven LaCroix, 61, of Stoddard, New Hampshire, was charged with aggravated impaired driving, negligent operation, open container in a motor vehicle and driving after an accident.

He was released on personal bond and will be arraigned in Keene District Court on April 13, 2022.

The school bus sustained minimal damage and had 18 students on board at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
