Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land Hosts Teen Driving Lesson for Clements High School Seniors

Mercedes Benz of Sugar Land held its first teen driving school on Saturday, March 5 at MSR Houston.

Twelve seniors from Clements High School met Saturday morning at the MSR Houston racetrack to learn vital driving skills.

MBSL, a private dealership, usually organizes teen driving lessons for the families of its members. This special event was dedicated entirely to Clements High School students, at no cost, thanks to Dealer Brand Ambassador and Clements graduate Kory Enders, MBSL said.

“We are thrilled to partner again with Clements High School to bring our Teen Driving Safety School to their students,” said Derek Brown, Vice President of Marketing, MBSL. “Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land values community enrichment, so it’s very important for our dealership to help teach local teens how to be safe drivers.”

Attendees started the day with a classroom lesson from MSR-trained instructors, which they quickly put to the test that afternoon.

Performing laps on the race track with the instructors, the teens experienced ‘hands-on’ driving exercises including skid pads, reverse gears, brake adjustments and more in a variety of Mercedes vehicles -Benz G-Class. The purpose of these exercises was to teach crucial safety and accident avoidance techniques, as well as experience extreme situations in a controlled environment.

“(This) has been a great experience for all of the students at Clements High School and a memory they will cherish for a lifetime,” said Matthew Warren, Vice-Principal of Clements High School. “Thank you to Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land and Kory Enders for this incredible opportunity.”
