NEW DELHI, May 4: The country’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said on Wednesday that the number of its professional driving schools had reached the milestone of 500 across the country and aimed to train around 25 lakh people by 2025.
Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools (MSDS), launched in 2005, now operates in 242 cities with 500 state-of-the-art driving schools and has provided driver training to more than 17 lakh customers, the company said. in a press release.
“The MSDS network has approximately 1,500 certified and qualified expert trainers who provide safe driving training. By 2025, we aim to expand the network of Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools and train more than 2.5 million people in quality driving skills. said Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Shashank Srivastava.
The MSDS were launched with the main aim of imparting safe driving education and road behavior to customers in order to make Indian roads safer, he said, adding: “Over the years, there has introduced global standards for delivering quality driver training and setting new benchmarks through its advanced training methodology.
These schools were set up by the company in partnership with its dealers and offer driving courses designed with theoretical and practical training based on international best driving practices, MSIL said.
Organized training sessions educate customers on various aspects including proper road behavior, defensive driving, traffic rules and regulations, in addition to a holistic overview of basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and emergency management techniques, he added. (PTI)
