Isiah Pringle was arrested in Hackensack on Friday.
Police said he approached mature students and their teachers while taking driving lessons in a Stop and Shop parking lot around 10:55 a.m.
They say Pringle tried to pull a female driver out of a car. When another instructor intervened, officers said Pringle grabbed a broomstick and started beating him.
