FleetForce Opens New Truck Driving School at Florida College State

The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota campus is home to the newest FleetForce truck driving school.

Located in Venice, Fla., the CDL training center will offer tuition-free opportunities made possible by a partnership between FleetForce, the Florida Trucking Association and the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, said a business thread Press release.

“For many potential new drivers, the cost of obtaining their CDL is a barrier to entering the industry,” said Tra Williams, President and CEO of FleetForce, in the press release. “This program allows students to take tuition-free courses and come away with a job in hand.”

Tuition is covered by a pre-employment program in which member trucking companies of the Florida Trucking Association pay tuition upfront as part of an agreement to hire that student once he received his CDL.

“We are excited to see our partnership with FleetForce continue to grow,” said Alix Miller, president and CEO of the Florida Trucking Association, in the press release. “The incredible response to this program shows how interested people are in such a rewarding, accessible career. We are proud to be at the forefront of training the next generation of professional truck drivers.

The new FleetForce school is the second opened in conjunction with the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, and the fourth FleetForce training center in Florida.

According to the press release, additional FleetForce training sites are expected to open in Florida next year.

“This public-private collaboration allows us to meet the workforce needs of our region and our state,” said Todd Fritch, executive vice president and provost of the State College of Florida, in the press release. “Since the program launched in November, more than 200 individuals have obtained their commercial license through FleetForce at our Bradenton campus. Workforce training and industry credentials remain a high priority for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. The expansion of our Venice campus will double the capacity rate while providing a closer-to-home training opportunity for southern county residents.

FleetForce offers its tuition-free program at all locations.
