The government on Thursday extended the validity of motor vehicle documents like driving license (DL), registration certificate (RC) and permits until October 31, 2021, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic in Classes.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) says it has advised law enforcement authorities that the validity of the fitness, permit (all types), license, registration or any other document concerned may be considered valid until the end of next month.

“In view of the grim situation that persists due to the conditions for preventing the spread of Covid-19 across the country, it is advised that the validity of all the types of documents mentioned above including the extension of the validity could not be, or was not likely to be forthcoming, granted due to confinement and which had expired since 1st of February 2020 or would expire on the 31stst October 2021, the same can be considered valid until 31st October 2021,” he said.
The ministry advisory said that all states and union territories are urged to implement this advisory in letter and spirit so that citizens, carriers and various other organizations, who are operating in this difficult time , are not harassed and do not face difficulties.
He had previously issued notices dated March 30, 2020, June 9, 2020, August 24, 2020, December 27, 2020, March 26, 2021 and June 17, 2021 regarding the extension of the validity of documents related to the motor vehicles. , 1988, and Central Motor Vehicle Regulations, 1989.
